5 Tips to Lose 40 Pounds Quick

There are many ways to lose 40 pounds. If you want to lose weight you have to eat less and exercise more. It's a very simple fact, but most of us can't do it.

You'll need to watch what you eat to lose weight. You don't have to starve yourself, but eat healthy foods instead. Try to exercise at least 5 days a week if you want to lose a lot of weight. You should know that only food control is not enough to lose a lot of weight, you need exercise to help your body burn more calories.

Below are 5 tips to help you lose 40 pounds fast.

1. Don't skip breakfast : Breakfast can be the most important meal of the day. If you want to lose weight, you have to eat breakfast every day. If you don’t eat breakfast, you gain weight. Yes, you heard it right. When you don’t eat breakfast, you tend to eat more the other meals and snacks more too. Studies show making breakfast as daily habit can help you lose weight and keep it off.

"People skip breakfast thinking they're cutting calories, but by mid-morning and lunch, that person is starved," says Milton Stokes, RD, MPH, chief dietitian for St. Barnabas Hospital in New York City. "Breakfast skippers replace calories during the day with mindless nibbling, binging at lunch and dinner. They set themselves up for failure."

2. Consume more fiber food: Fiber food makes you feel full for fewer calories. Fiber takes longer to digest; it makes you feel full longer, so it prevents you to consume more food. Fiber is also good for your bowel movement and ward off certain diseases. It reduces risks of colon cancer, heart diseases and so on.

Good source of fiber foods are fruit and vegetable, brown rice, whole grains such as wheat, oats, barley.

3. Eat 6 small meals a day: eat many small meals a day, make your metabolism work harder. You will never feel hungry when you eat often. It prevents you from eating a lot.

4. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day: Exercise is very important in order to lose 40 pounds. You should know that the first 10 pounds is faster to lose. After a month or so, the rate drops, as your body get used to the new diet. You have to keep your motivation high, eating healthy food and exercise regularly, at least 30 minutes a day in order to lose 40 pounds.

5. Drink 10 glasses of water per day: Water has no calories; you can drink a lot of water without gaining any weight. Water can also help you lose weight. A study shows that people, who drink 8 glasses of water a day, lose more weight than those who drink only 4 glasses per day.

Drinking water is very important if you are trying to lose weight. You also need water to be healthy. Drinking a glass of water before meals may help you eat less.

You have to change your current eating habit and exercise in order to lose 40 pounds. You wouldn't be able to lose any weight if you are not willing to change.
