Abilify is an antipsychotic medication. It works by changing the actions of chemicals in the brain.

Abilify is used to treat the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

It helps manage positive symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and thought disturbances and as well as negative symptoms such as include social withdrawal, inability to experience pleasure, and blunted affect of schizophrenia.

Abilify Dosage

The usual dose of abilify medication is 10 or 15 milligrams taken once a day. Doctor may also increase your dosage.

Uses of Abilify

Abilify is used to treat the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia.

It is also used to treat the mania phase of bipolar disorder such as manic-depressive illness).

It is also used for other conditions those are listed in the medication guide.

Side Effects of Abilify

Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. After taken abilify, it may impair judgement, thinking, or motor skills. So you should be careful in operating machinery such as including automobiles.

You should also be avoid drinking alcohol while taking Abilify.

Abilify can also cause the body to overheat. So be cautious in hot weather.

You should tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to any drug.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.

Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor.

Drug Interaction:-

If you are taking abilify with other drugs, then it may increase, decrease or also alter the effects of abilify. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Accolate with other drugs. So be cautious when taking Abilify with blood pressure medications classified as alpha-adrenergic blockers, such as Hytrin and Cardura. Caution is also advised when combining Abilify with drugs that act on the brain, such as tranquilizers, antidepressants, sleeping pills, narcotic painkillers, and other schizophrenia medications.
Overdose

If an overdose occurs, whether intentional or accidental, immediate medical attention is necessary. Call your doctor or emergency medical service.

Little information is available for aripiprazole overdoses, and which symptoms to expect. However, sedation and vomiting have been reported. Additionally, you may experience certain common adverse effects in an especially strong way. Common adverse effects include: headache, nervousness, insomnia, and dizziness.

After taken Abilify if you feel that overdose is suspected, then contact with your doctor immediately. Symptoms of an Abilify overdose may include:

Drowsiness

Vomiting

Agitation

Aggression

Confusion

Tremors

Fast or slow heart rate

Seizure (convulsions)
