Adderall is a central nervous system stimulant. It affects chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to hyperactivity and impulse control. Adderall is used to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Adderall Dosage

*The usual starting dose for children 3 to 5 years of age is 2.5 milligrams daily.
*For adults, the usual total daily dose ranges from 5 to 60 milligrams, you should taken as 2 or more smaller doses.

Uses of Adderall

*Adderall is used to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity (ADHD).
*Amphetamine-dextroamphetamine stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain) by increasing the amount of certain chemicals in the body.
*It may also be used for other medical conditions those are listed in this medication guide.

Side Effects of Adderall

Side effects cannot be anticipated. Before taken Adderall medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Adderall. * High blood pressure
* Hives

*Do not take amphetamine-dextroamphetamine without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment.
*Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor.
*If you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors, including isocarboxazid, phenelzine, selegiline, and tranylcypromine , then you should not take dextroamphetamine and amphetamine.

You should also tell your doctor what nutritional supplements that you are taking, especially glutamic acid.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Adderall with certain other drugs, then it may be increased, decreased, or altered the effects of medicine. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Adderall with the following:

*Acetazolamide (Diamox)
*Glutamic acid (an amino acid related to MSG)
*Lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid)
*Major tranquilizers such as Haldol and Thorazine
*Norepinephrine (Levophed)
*Propoxyphene (Darvon)
*Seizure medications such as Dilantin, phenobarbital, and Zarontin
*Vitamin C

Overdose

But after taken Adderall if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Adderall overdose may include:

* Abdominal cramps
* Diarrhea
* Hallucinations
* Heightened reflexes
* High fever
* Irregular heartbeat
* Nausea
* Panic
* Rapid breathing
* Restlessness

If you suspect an overdose, seek emergency treatment immediately.
