Aerobid Medicine - Uses, Dosage and Side Effects

Inhalation corticosteroids are cortisone-like medicines. They are used to help prevent the symptoms of asthma. When used regularly every day, inhalation corticosteroids decrease the number and severity of asthma attacks. However, they will not relieve an asthma attack that has already started. It is helps to reduce recurring symptoms of asthma.

It prevents the release of substances in the body that may cause inflammation.

Aerobid Dosage

*For adults, the usual starting dose is 2 inhalations twice daily, in the morning and evening.
*For children 6 to 15 years of age, 2 inhalations may be used twice daily.

Uses of Aerobid

*Flunisolide inhalation is used to prevent asthma attacks.
*It may also be used to treats other medical conditions those are listed in this medication guide.

Side Effects of Aerobid

Before taken Aerobid medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Aerobid. Side effects may include:

* Cold symptoms
* Diarrhea
* Flu
* Headache
* Infection of the upper respiratory tract
* Nasal congestion
* Nausea
* Sore throat
* Unpleasant taste
* Upset stomach
* Vomiting

If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

* skin rash
* increased difficulty breathing
* white spots or sores in your mouth
* swollen face, lower legs, or ankles
* vision problems
* cold or infection that lasts a long time
* muscle weakness

Warnings and precautions before taking Aerobid:

*You should tell your doctor your medical history such as all illnesses and infections, glaucoma, cataracts, allergies.
*Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to flunisolide or any other drugs.
*If you are taking prescription and nonprescription medications especially arthritis medications, aspirin, digoxin (Lanoxin), diuretics, estrogen, ketoconazole, oral contraceptives, then you should tell your doctor.
*If you have a fungal infection, then you should not use flunisolide without talking to your doctor.
*Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while using flunisolide, call your doctor.

Drug Interaction :-

No interactions have been reported. But if you are taking Aerobid with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Aerobid with other drugs.

Overdose

An overdose of this medication is not likely to occur. But after taken Aerobid if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect.
