Affirmations - Planting New Mind Programs with Simple Words

By: Elizabeth Bohorquez, RN, C.Ht

Affirmations are powerful self-talk statements, and work well when practicing Interactive Self-Hypnosis © Always keep your eyes open for affirmations appearing in things you read, see on television, hear on the radio, or even on the computer. There are many motivational websites, and on the site for Sarasota Hypnosis Institute, you will find daily motivations in the different areas of interest that also apply Interactive Self-Hypnosis.

Positive self-talk statements are most powerful when programmed at the alpha brain wave state or below. It is easy to join these during your Awareness Meditation Banking or Application. You might like to join a favorite one with your end-goal image picture or video.

This will enhance the inner programming for you. I suggest you work with Interactive Self-Hypnosis Audio, so you will be able to program your affirmations right into your subconscious mind with the inner computer image. The right side of the brain loves creative imagery and is delighted when you work in this special way. It helps to make the affirmations come alive. I call them hot images or hot affirmations. You can practice doing this exercise out of hypnosis. It is really lots of fun.

Turn to any list of affirmations and choose one that appeals to you, something you would like to program. Close your eyes and tilt them up slightly, breath from center, and see a picture depicting the affirmation chosen by you. Now make it into a video and place yourself in the action. There…you have just programmed a power file, right into your subconscious mind.

Go back to center again, tilting the eyes up and bring forth the inner screen. Now, place a problematic file picture up on the screen, something you don't ant or would like to diminish. Open your eyes and go back to the affirmation list and choose one that would be an appropriate change. Close your eyes and bring the problematic image back to the screen. This time make it smaller and further away from you…Notice how easy it is to move it backwards, just with your mind.

Change the colors to black and white, perhaps adding some fade-out, just as if you were the producer of a television program. Now, take the affirmation you chose and place it up on the screen. See the words as if they were a theater marquee. Design a picture image to go with the words, or en an action video. Look carefully and see the problematic picture fading back further and the marquee playing beautifully across your inner mind screen. You have just edited an old mind file with new powerful programming.

You are the writer/producer of all inner programming. You already know from earlier work, that all inner files are "fantasy" and therefore can be edited. You already know that your body sensations will follow the mind programming, and that all files have chemical codes, playing out in your body communications accordingly.

As you begin your inner library adventure, you will find yourself moving out of sugar-addiction behaviors into the realm of optimum performance in all areas of your life. Of course, this takes dedication and work. It is a good idea to program yourself for weekly practice of Interactive Self-Hypnosis, just as if you had an appointment with a very special counselor, and of course yourself.

Self - Development Questions

1. If you are working with affirmations now, what changes will you make in light of this new material?
2. What changes will you make today?
3. In what areas of your life could you benefit from additional affirmational work?
4. How will you go about formalizing those affirmations for that area?
5. See yourself locating affirmations as you participate in your daily life. Ask your subconscious librarian to show you additional areas. See yourself in your mind's eye gather new affirmations in those areas.
