All Natural Female Aphrodisiac, It`s Finally Our Turn

By: Louise Greene

I hear so many women complain that their libido just isn`t as strong as it once was. I have sadly also heard comparisons to it being much like a deflated balloon. Where is the passion and heat that once was? Why is it that romantic interludes have been put on a dimmer switch set on low? Well ladies, I think we can do better than simply being nostalgic about when we felt more oomph in the bedroom.

Fortunately, alot of research and study has been made about the causes and solutions for fluctuating libidos in women. We all know that plenty of study has been devoted to men and the causes for their sexual dysfunctions. And we also know that they have a full buffet of pills to choose from to compensate for those symptoms regardless of the cause.

So now it`s our turn to focus on the feminine mystique and what we can do for ourselves to reclaim fulfilling intimacy and pleasure that we deserve to have.

Part of the problem is that by the end of the day after spending many hours multi tasking at work, we get home and our day is still not done. We just have so many roles to fulfill between work and family, so many demands on our time and attention. By the time evening rolls around, chances are we are just exhausted. There`s not enough energy left to engage in quality intimacy with our husbands or mates. Am I right? Wouldn`t many of us opt for sleep instead?

It`s perfectly normal for there to be an ebb and flow in our desires. Other factors can also contribute to the "deflated balloon" syndrome. Many prescription and even over the counter medicines can affect the libido. It`s well known that hormonal changes can take the air out of the tire too. And while studies have shown that sensual responsiveness may get better with age, these hormonal imbalances can cause a diminished sex drive. In other words, we are more experienced but we have lost the high octane power we had in our 20`s and 30`s. Bummer!

A recent study at the University of Chicago of a group of healthy American women between the ages of 18 to 59 found that 33% had hypoactive sexual desire or HSDD, also referred to as low sex drive or libido. This study also revealed that 24% of the women had difficulty achieving orgasm. Also according to this particular survey, 37% of women think about sex a few times a month and only 33% think about it 2 to 3 times a week or more. Compare that to men who hypothetically think about it every 2 minutes or so!

Do we just leave this situation to surveys and university study groups? A thunderous no, I say! We can do plenty to maintain or even increase our libido. Aside from regular excercise for stamina, eating foods that are rich in protein and calcium will help to raise testosterone levels. Testosterone is produced in the adrenal glands and plays an essential role in the female sex drive. You might say it turbo charges our libido.

The idea is to naturally boost a woman`s sex drive without the use of synthetic drugs and the goal is to increase the capacity for sensual responsiveness to feel more pleasure during intimacy. There are natural and safe alternatives to those drugs and they have been around for many years. Alot of the herbs, minerals, and vitamins in these natural formulas have other benefits as well, but we are not focusing on that right now, are we?

Some of the ingredients that I am referring to are:
Damiana - a mild aphrodisiac which also helps to reduce anxiety.
Dong Quai root - which has been around for centuries and is known as the ultimate herb for women. It also contains vitamins E, A, and B12.
Shatavri - another aphrodisiac which also strengthens and increases muscle tone. This herb also helps to increase levels of testosterone in women.
Ginko Biloba - we all know that this herb works as a brain tonic (so at least you will remember the romantic episode) and it increases oxygen and energy levels too.

These are just a few of the ingredients to look for in an effective herbal version of what many people are now referring to as the female Viagra. It`s always preferable to go with natural ingredients especially when they have been firmly proven to be highly effective and made to FDA safety standards. So...here`s to many memorable romantic evenings ahead.
