Alopecia Areata Treatment and Alopecia Hair Care

Alopecia areata (AA) is a non-scarring, inflammatory, alopecia areatadisease that is seen in men, women and children.

This condition is commonly manifested by patchy areas of complete alopecia areataon the scalp and other body parts. In severe cases, alopecia areata can development to total loss of all body hair.

While not a life threatening condition, Alopecia areata is nevertheless serious because of the psychologically and sociologically devastating effects the alopecia areatacan have on the victim.

The characteristics of the alopecia areatadisease we now know to be alopecia areata (AA) were first described by Cornelius Celsus in 30 A.D.
Celsus describe two forms of alopecia, using the Greek word alopekia, accurately translating as “fox mange”. Alopecia areata has been given many different names throughout history. However, the actual term "alopecia areata" was first second-hand by Sauvages in his "Nosologica Medica", in print in the eighteenth century.

In past times, alopecia areata was thinking to be caused by stress, communicable agents, or hormonal commotion. The suggestion that the disease is autoimmune in nature and affects hereditarily susceptible persons was first mooted in the mid 20th century.

Symptoms of Alopecia areata

In the most common type of hair loss, inherited alopecia areata(androgen tic alopecia), men tend to lose hair on the front hairline and forehead and on top of the head.

Eventually, only hair about the ears, the sides, and rear of the head remnants. Women with this state classically have gradual contraction throughout the scalp.

Treatment of Alopecia areata

There are various types of female alopecia areata treatment. These comprise treatment by medication, herbal or ayurvedic action, normal treatment, surgical treatment like hair take away and scalp decrease.

For female alopecia areatatreatment, one of the most effective drugs is minoxidil, a 2% concentration of which should be applied on the scalp. Home Remedies for Alopecia areata

1. Take a pot of water and soak few fenugreek seeds in it. Massage it in the scalp and drape a cloth for about 3 hours. Repeat this procedure for a month to get treated of hair loss.
2. Take rare egg yolk and massage it on the scalp. Keep it for an hour and then wash off.
3. Red henna is positive in treating hair loss problem. Smear henna above the scalp and keep it for an hour. Wash the hair. Repeat this process in a span of 10 to 15 days.
4. Apply castor oil on the scalp and the roots but not on the hair. Wrap the hair with daily and tie it with cloth. Keep it overnight and wash it in the morning. Repeat this for 7 to 10 days.
5. In a cup of steaming water, add a tsp of mustard seeds. Cook it for about 5 minutes and allow it to cool. Once cooled, drink this invention.
6. Rub olive oil in the scalp. This would help reduce hair loss.
