Other additions are Keith Foulke, the star of World Series 2004, Hideki Okajima, the Japanese lefty reliever formerly of the Yomiuri Giants and lefty J.C. Romero from Puerto Rica. Reliever Joel Pineiro has signed a 1 year contract with them. Runelvys Hernandez relief pitcher, Joe McEwing infielder and Kerry Robinson outfielder has also signed minor league contract with the team. Mark Loretta was replaced by Houston and Alex Gonzalez has been replaced by Julio Lugo.

The hot favorites are Joel Piñeiro, Brendan Donnelly, Devern Hansack, J.C. Romero, Craig Hansen, Manny Delcarmen, Mike Timlin and Julian Tavarez, while on the other hand Jonathon Papelbon, the starter of the team will be resuming his role as closer. They finished the 1974 season 84-76 emerging as real contenders and were placed second behind the eventual World Series champion Oakland Athletics. Texas Rangers are the only MLB team to finish above .500 after two consecutive 100-loss seasons. Now, Mike Hargrove was AL Rookie of the Year, Billy Martin was Manager of the Year, Jeff Burroughs was AL Most Valuable Player, and Ferguson Jenkins was the Comeback Player of the Year. After excellent seasons between 1977 and 79, Texas Rangers came very close in clinching a playoff spot in the first half of 1981 but Texas Rangers lost the game before the strike hit.

The losing streak lasted for 5 seasons after 1981 and a worse trade was made by getting future Brewers' manager Ned Yost from Milwaukee Brewers for multi-Gold Glove catcher Jim Sundberg.

Texas Rangers longest-serving manager has been Bobby Valentine at 1,186 games. He worked hard in the late 1980s and 1990s as talent infiltrated the team. 1986 season wins were greatly due to Rookies Ruben Sierra and Pete Incaviglia but the Rangers still finished 5 games behind division-winning California. Fans has high expectations of Texas Rangers that had powerful batters like Juan González, Rubén Sierra, Julio Franco, Harold Baines, and Rafael Palmeiro and a pitching staff that included Charlie Hough, Bobby Witt, Kevin Brown, and Kenny Rogers.

During the 1992 season Valentine was sacked due to the consistent average performance. Catcher Geno Petralli was one of the team’s most popular players during this time.

The 1987 team the only team in Major League history to carry four catchers on their roster for the entire season. With Kevin Kennedy being the manager, the 1993 squad was in serious contention for a playoff berth into mid-September. The 1994 season featured a perfect game by Kenny Rogers.

Though, the new manager, Johnny Oates led the Texas Rangers to an ALL West division title in 1996, they eventually lost to the New York Yankees. The Texas Rangers 2006 season ended with a disappointing 80-82 record and a third-place finish in the American League West.

Following the policy ‘What happens in Camelot, stays in Camelot’, the five knights gather in Camelot. God contacts them and tells them to locate the Holy Grail. Along the way they meet some very rude French Taunters. They split up shortly afterwards with Sir Robin and his minstrels following King Arthur and Patsy into a ‘dark and very expensive forest’ where they are separated. King Arthur then meets the Knights Who Say Ni and on their demand, he and Patsy find a shrubbery. The Knights do accept it, but now they want him to create a Broadway musical. By now the King has given up hope but the Lady of the Lake appears and tells him that he and the Knights were in a Broadway Musical all along. He just needs to find the Grail and marry someone.

The King reunited with his Knights meets Tim the Enchanter who warns them of the danger of an evil rabbit. The rabbit eventually bites a knight's head off and Arthur knocks it down a nearby hill with the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. This reveals a Frenchman who in reality is using the rabbit as a puppet and a large stone block showing a combination of letters and numbers is also revealed. Not knowing what to do, Arthur asks God for one final bit of help and he shows the king that the letters and numbers refer to a seat number in the audience. The grail is found under the seat and the person sitting in the seat is rewarded. Arthur now marries the Lady of the Lake, Lancelot marries Herbert, and Sir Robin decides to take up writing Broadway musicals.

Several sections call for improvisation on the part of the actors and they use current events or local culture especially during the French Taunter scene in Act I, during the Knights of Ni scene, and during the peasant scene at end of the show.

Out of the fourteen Tony Award nominations, the three Monty Pythons Spamalot were won include Best Musical, Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical (Sara Ramirez) and Best Direction of a Musical. Monty Python's Spamalots Best Musical award is advertised at the Shubert Theatre.

These Tony Awards led to a minor change to the song ‘The Diva's Lament’. The line ‘I've no Grammy, no reward/I've no Tony Award’ became ‘My Tony Award/won't keep me out of Betty Ford's’. It became ‘All our Tony Awards/won't keep me out of Betty Ford's’ when Kennedy took over for Ramirez. Glenn sings ‘All our goddamn awards’ in the touring production that has garnered Boston's Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Visiting Production.

There were great expectations for Houston Astros when the 2004 campaign began. It started with so much promise that it hurt when it turned into a mediocre effort that resulted in a .500 record at the All-Star breakheld at Minute Maid Park. This led to the dismissal of manager Jimy Williams. Phil Garner took over the managerial duties three weeks after, even though many people were against him. But the Houston Astros really responded to him. This was when the Houston Astros began an unprecedented 36-10 run that leapfrogged them over five teams en route to the National League Wild Card. They jumped up high, snatched up the opportunity and won their first postseason series in franchise history when they topped the Atlanta Braves, three games to two, in the Division Series. These were trying times as the team was decimated by injuries leaving them with only two proven starters -- Roy Oswalt and Roger Clemens (who postponed his retirement for one year). A slew of players made valiant efforts to lead the Houston Astros to the seventh game of the National League Championship Series. This was truly the Houston Astros' historic run and it ended with a 5-2 Game 7 loss to the Cardinals, one game shy of their first-ever World Series berth. Who knows what would have happened if they had won the game this time.

Roger Clemens of Houston Astros said that his decision to put off retirement again was "very heart-wrenching". He said this when he picked up his seventh Cy Young Award at the annual New York baseball dinner Sunday night. Then, turning to his former manager with the Yankees, Joe Torre, he practically apologized.
