Clinoril Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Clinoril is a powerful non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) usually prescribed to treat chronic inflammation and pain in the joints. The conditions it's most commonly used to treat include: acute gouty arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, bursitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and tendinitis. Other uses include the treatment of colon polyps and diabetic neuropathy.
Clinoril Dosage

* For the treatment of Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, the usual starting dosage is 150 milligrams 2 times a day.
* For the treatment of Acute Gouty Arthritis or Arthritic Shoulder and Joint Condition, the usual starting dosage is 400 milligrams daily and you should be taken in doses of 200 milligrams 2 times a day.

Uses of Clinoril

* Sulindac is used to reduce the pain, inflammation, and stiffness that may be caused by rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, tendinitis and bursitis.

Side Effects of Clinoril

Before taken Clinoril medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. Because a side effect is stated here, it does not mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect. Side effects may include:

* Abdominal pain
* Constipation
* Diarrhea
* Blood disorders
* Kidney disease
* Headache
* Indigestion
* Itching
* Loss of appetite
* Nausea
* Rash
* Bleeding from the stomach
* Narrowing of the airways (bronchospasm)
* Damage to the liver

Warnings and precautions before taking Clinoril:

* You should not take aspirin or any other anti-inflammatory medications while you are taking Clinoril, especially if you have asthma.
* If you are using this medicine, then it may cause vision problems. If you experience a change in your vision, then you should inform your doctor.
* If you have heart disease or high blood pressure, then it may cause water retention. So you should be used this drug with extra caution.
* This drug should be used with extra caution if you have kidney or liver disease.

Drug Interaction :-If you are taking Clinoril with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Clinoril with the following:

* Aspirin
* Blood thinners such as Coumadin
* Cyclosporine
* Diflunisal
* Lithium
* Methotrexate
* Loop diuretics such as Lasix
* Oral diabetes medications

Other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Aleve, Motrin, others)
The anti-gout medication Benemid
Overdose

If you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Symptoms of a Clinoril overdose include:

* Coma
* Low blood pressure
* Reduced output of urine
* Stupor
