Dandruff - Home remedies to get rid of dandruff

By: alien

Dandruff

Dandruff is a very common problem in all over the world. It is infected by the personal articles like towel, etc. Dandruff is also known as seborrheic dermatitis. With dandruff, there is inflammation of the superficial layers of the skin, causing scales on the scalp and other parts of the body.

Dandruff is a bothersome problem sometimes thought to be associated with inefficient hair care. Nothing could be further from the truth - anyone who has dandruff knows that As a result, cells build up on your scalp in clumps before they're shed.Dandruff includes white, oily-looking flakes of dead skin in your hair and on your shoulders and an itchy, scaling scalp. Your scalp can be either excessively dry or oily.

Causes of Dandruff

No one knows exactly what causes dandruff, though the current theory is that it's a type of yeast growing out of control. There are several possible causes for dandruff. It may be due to stress, bad nutrition, lack of rest, frequent use of gels and hair sprays, excessive use of hot curling irons etc. Dandruff is worst during cold winters and less severe during summer.
Another cause is caused by micro-organism called pityrosporum-ovle which is present in every body's scalp. Dandruff is usually a result of too much oiliness of the skin and scalp rather than dryness. While mild dandruff may be caused by overactive oil glands, recent evidence suggests that the more severe dandruff associated with seborrheic dermatitis may be caused by an overabundance of Pityrosporum ovale, a yeast-like organism found on healthy scalp in low numbers.

Hormones may also be another important cause, because dandruff usually starts after puberty and is more common in men than women. For unknown reasons, people with some illnesses, such as Parkinson’s disease, are more likely to have dandruff.

Home Remedies for Dandruff
