Detox Diet Cleanse - The Common Causes of Constipation

By:

Constipation is a problem that usually goes untreated when ever it occurs. Most people experience constipation more repeatedly than any other condition. While the symptoms of constipation are relatively mild and tend to be limited to: difficulty passing stool, hard or dry stool, and infrequent bowel movements. In rare cases, irregularity may signal more serious medical conditions, such as colorectal cancer, hormonal disturbances or autoimmune diseases.

irregularity is a very common condition because it can be caused by a large number of factors. In rare cases, constipation may signal more serious medical conditions, such as colorectal cancer, hormonal disturbances or autoimmune diseases . Constipation occurs when the colon absorbs too much water or if the colon?s muscle contractions are slow or sluggish, causing the stool to move through the colon too slowly. As a result, stools can become hard and dry. If your dealing with frequent constipation, your not alone. In fact, its estimated over four million people in the United States experience frequent or continuous constipation, making it the most common gastrointestinal problem in the country.

Many Common Constipation Causes

Alcohol inhibits digestion, causes dehydration, depresses glucose metabolism, and compromises the functioning of the central and peripheral nervous systems. The growing impact of these factors is behind chronic constipation related to alcohol abuse . A new pain medication or antidepressant may also lead to regularity problems. Stress is a huge cause of constipation and one of the big reasons for its frequency. Simply withholding bowel movements (a common cause of childhood constipation) can lead to infrequency. Whatever the cause of chronic constipation, it is a condition I feel should never be ignored. The first step would be to rule out medical conditions, such as colon cancer, colon polyps, IBS, diverticulitis, and Crohn's Disease. Detoxing is something I do at least twice a year, as well as doing smaller maintenance cleanses throughout the year. It's probably my number one suggestion for better health.

Medical Issues That Cause Constipation

Ignoring the urge to pass a stool also leads to chronic constipation. If ignored often enough, this urge can completely disappear. People will often suppress the urge because they do not want to use a public toilet due to its unhygienic state. Children will also often ignore the urge to pass a stool if they are in an unfamiliar environment, or simply because they do not want to interrupt an enjoyable activity. Septicemia is a systemic infection, usually caused by bacteria of various types contaminating a persons blood. When septicemia is not treated with the appropriate antibiotics, the infected blood can then contaminate other organs or tissues of the body, creating life-threatening infections. There are many things that can cause septicemia, most notably, cuts that have become infected.

Diabetes is a condition where the body is unable to properly regulate blood glucose levels via insulin. A side effect of diabetes is dehydration which then leads to the constipation which is often present with diabetes. Proper treatment will reduce the blood glucose spikes and reduce dehydration but it may still be necessary to hydrate more than normal to prevent constipation problems from arising..

Constipation can also occur as a result of abnormal nerve function, usually causing severe irregularity. This can occur by itself or from certain medical conditions such as irritable bowel, thyroid disorders, or neurological conditions such as diabetes or spinal cord injuries, etc. that affect the function of the nerves in the intestines. These types of conditions usually will cause irregularity or hard stools. Many medications lead to constipation as a side effect . Constipation aries due to the signals coming from the brain and because of that the muscular tracts from the gastrointestines have problems.

It is the peristaltic action - involuntary contraction of the intestinal walls - that moves faeces through the colon. If the peristaltic action is weak or in severe cases does not occur at all, constipation results.
In acute constipation the causes can be simply a matter of eating concentrated foods that swell in the body (eg. bread and oats) with insufficient water. However, the causes may also be fairly serious including an obstruction in the bowel, insufficient bile secretion by the liver, lack of peristalsis due to nerve paralysis, drug toxicity and infections.

Everyone at one time or another experiences constipation. If you have chronic constipation or don't feel finished when you've finished the job, you need colon cleansing. Common sense and science tell us that prolonged retention of feces and stale waste matter in the colon may, and often does, result in blockage of the passage within the colon causing all kinds of disease. A plaster-like coating can form on the walls of the colon. Colon irrigation can and will dissolve this, but to remove it too rapidly could cause the inner lining of the colon to become raw. The best approach is to gradually, comfortably, and effectively soak and saturate the colon with water. It takes years to create blockage and build-up to the inside walls of the colon so it may take a series of bowel irrigations (maybe dozens) to cleanse thoroughly. Once you can appreciate increased energy, lightness of being, and the overall healthful feeling that bowel irrigation provides, you'll want to maintain a regular schedule to stay healthy, look younger and feel great!

A perfectly normal rate of bowel movement can vary anywhere from three times a day to three times a week depending on who you ask. Some say that we ought not to expect our bowels to operate exactly the same two days in a row. On the other hand, most alternative, naturopathic, homeopathic or wholistically-minded folks believe that a healthy colon will have good evacuation two to three times within 24 hours. Some also believe that bowel movement should occur like clockwork, aiding and abetting nutritional cycles. For the better part of this century, naturalistic healers have believed that the indigestible portion of the food we eat lodges in the large intestine and stays there until eliminated in a bowel movement. Therefore, infrequent movements or periods of constipation (especially those extending beyond 72 hours) can result in only a partial decomposition of waste, which can encrust the colon walls and hinder elimination. The toxins from this fecal matter are then reabsorbed into the body through the bloodstream, lowering the body's defenses against every bacteria, virus, and disease imaginable.

One of the surest ways to reduce chances for future blockages is to periodically employ a colon cleanser. To prevent fecal matter blockage you must start a colon cleanse and it will also prevent future issues as well. This method will remove any fecal matter sticking to the intestine walls and reduce the chances of future blockage. For this effect to take place the product must be an all natural substance. Colon cleansers that are not made will all natural ingredients may contain harsh chemicals that may lead to dehydration or other harmful side effects.
