Dice Playing Scenario

By: Fawzia Awwad

What is the series of events that happens when a player arrives at an active dice table? The initial event will be a question from the dealer as too what is your buy in amount and how do you want it in chip denominations. With this important decision out of the way, the player now must make a decision on what to bet and where to place the bet on the dice table. Some players are willing to wait until the next come out roll for two reasons. One may be superstition and the other, to see if the current shooter holds the dice by making his point.

If the player elects to wait and place a bet on the line, he has to make another decision very quickly. If the shooter rolls a seven or eleven should he take down his profit from the winning bet or let it ride. If the shooter craps out by rolling a 2, 3 or a 12, then he must replace the losing bet. If the shooter throws any other number the next correct play is for the player to take the max odds behind the line. The casino controls this amount. Let’s say the max is 3 times the line bet, and your wager was $10 then the player would take odds of thirty dollars.

Other plays the player could make here are placing all the numbers except the come out number. If the shooter rolls a group of numbers other than seven all of your bets stay live. If any of the numbers rolled was one of your place bets you could collect the profit or press the bet. If one of the numbers was finally the point, then you collect the line bet profit and the odds payoff on your line bet odds bet.

This is or would be a wonderful start for a player who just settled at the table. If the bets continue to win, welcome to a hot table. If they continue to lose, when you reach your loss limit for this table, leave.

If you have a strong feeling about the eleven or twelve place a bet that covers both. If it misses, move on. If it hits, press the bet to catch the repeat. If it does not repeat then you still made a profit and if it repeats you are golden. Do not hesitate to play hunches at a dice table as when they hit the payoffs were worth the risk. Experience at a dice table is invaluable and takes time to acquire.
