Do You Wish There Was An Easier Way To Get White Teeth

By: Deborah Bolton

A smile that is bright and beautiful can be created by going through a process called teeth whitening. It is a very secure and quick way to turn discolored, yellow teeth into a whiter smile. Lot of options for teeth whitening are present now and you should choose the one which suits your requirements and finances. This article has information about the diverse options that are there and will help you figure out the best one for you.

You cannot take teeth whitening to be a preventive procedure. It is usually taken into use for teeth that have lost their original color due to consumption of products such as coffee, tea and cigarettes. To make it more efficient, the amount of enamel present in teeth must be in good quantity to be worked with. Dental work such as veneers and crowns is not affected in its color by it. Dental works when fixed in teeth may lead teeth to turn in various shades if their whitening procedure is not done professionally by a dentist.

The earlier thought process was that teeth whitening works only the stains that are located on the surface of the teeth. Deeper discolorations, such as those caused by aging, trauma or some medications, would not respond to the treatment. Whitening of these stains is what the dentists today are trying to do. A normal teeth whitening process may not be able to whiten the deep stains and so you should talk to your dentist beforehand if your stains are deep.

As of now there are two varieties of teeth whitening processes existing. When one gets ones teeth bleached, ones teeth get whiter than what they should actually be. Bleaching agents like carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide are present is these things. This is the most common type of teeth whitening product on the market today.

White and fresh smile can be achieved by getting the teeth surface cleaned from debris and dirt by the whitening products. The color of the teeth is not really changed by them. It is very characteristic of goods such as toothpastes which say that they whiten teeth. When the description of bleaching agent is changed to that of a whitening product, the sales of the product increases. You need to go through the list of ingredients of the product you like and find whether or not it has bleaching agent for optimum results.

Over the counter teeth whitening kits are usually the most budget friendly option. These kits can be found in most drug stores or grocers and can often be found at a very reasonable price. There are strips present in the kits meant for teeth whitening and these strips fir over teeth and should be kept that was for some time daily. The strip has bleaching agent which is effective on teeth till the time you wear the strip. You need to use these kits often to keep positive results as they only work over a period of time.

Kits for bleaching at home can also be taken from the dentist. You need to pay more for professional kits but than their results and life of the results are also much better in comparison to the kits available over the counter. This whitening process has to be worn for a longer period of time as compared to other over the counter ones. Normally maximum of them need to be worn for just an hour or so but there are few which need to be worn for a complete night so that good results can be achieved. For a fixed period of time every day, you need to wear a tray which looks like a mouth guard and in which the bleaching agent is kept.

The speed and effectiveness of professional bleaching will increase when it is done at the dentist’s office and with a range of products and tools available there. A peroxide gel that is very high in concentration is used in the procedure where it is kept in contact with teeth for somewhere between 15 minutes to an hour. Protection of gums from the bleaching agent is very important as the concentration of formula is very high. There are people who will be able to observe the desired results in only one session. To get the desired color, the obstinate marks may require more follow up sessions.

Being fast and efficient has made teeth whitening such a preferred cosmetic procedure today. Normally no side effects as such occur from the bleaching agent and it is an easy to do process. It will not make much difference if you choose the over the counter whitening process or the professional one from the dentist, your smile will surely get whiter.
