Finding religious organizations to join

In United States, there are organizations of all religions including Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Scientology, Humanist, Deity, Taoist and many more. To find an organization to join will not be a difficult task in the US as the country respects all religions and provides religious freedom to all.

The names of religious organizations you can find from the yellow pages or directories. Besides, internet is the best medium to get a suitable organization of your religion to join. Some religious organizations have also their own websites in which they inform how a person can join the organization and what are the eligibility criteria. Even in newspapers and other magazines, you can find mentioned the activities of religious organizations. Take part in one of their programs and get in touch with some of the members of the organization and then you can know and join that group.

For Christianity, some of the top organizations in the US are Catholic Church, Southern Baptist Convention, United Methodist Church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Church of God in Christ, Presbyterian Church, National Baptist Convention of America, Assemblies of God and Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.

For Sikhs, there is World Sikh Council America Region and Sikh Religious Society of Chicago. There are many regional Sikh associations in the US. Similarly for Hindus, there is International Society of Krishna Consciousness. For Muslims, there are Islamic Society of North America, American Muslim Council, The Mosque Cares, American Muslim Alliance, etc.

For other religions, there are organizations like Unitarian Universalist Association, Focolare Movement, Union for Reform Judaism, Sokka Gakkai International, Buddha Light International Association, Rissho Kosei-kai, Federation of Jain Associations in North America, National Spiritual Assembly of Bahais and many more.
