Getting The Body Back To Work : Chinese Medicine

By: alien

Tuina and Chinese Medicine

Feeling tired all of the time, restless, getting headaches or feeling nauseous during the day for no apparent reason could be a sign your body is out of sync with what it is supposed to be doing. Beyond this, you can catch the viruses and colds going around all of the time.

According to Chinese medicine, this simply means that your flow of energy is blocked. Getting back in touch with what your body needs an alternative method could be found in Chinese medicine. One of the methods that can be used is Tuina, also known as Oriental bodywork therapy.

In ancient China, medical therapy was often classified into external and internal treatments. Tui na was one of the external methods, especially suitable for use on the elderly population and on infants. The concept of Tuina was also developed for help with digestion for adults. Later, the concept of Tuina was considered an art, and was banished by the government. It wasn't until the beginning of the Communist regime in the 1960s that it became popular again as a method for medical arts.

Tui na is a hands-on-body treatment using acupressure and its purpose is to bring the body into balance. A practitioner will work on changing the flow of your energy in your body by using various hand techniques. The hand techniques will first be used in order to massage the tissues and muscles of your body and afterward, specific points, also used for acupuncture, will be focused on. This added pressure is known to change the flow of Qi. After this, the practitioner will focus on realignment of the bones, skeletal structure and ligaments in order to realign them.

Herbs, salves and ointments, beyond the basic techniques, may also be used to enhance the Tuina. This will help to completely shift all levels of the energy systems that are in your body, allowing you to become more generated, balanced and healthy.

Tui na has fewer side effects than modern drug-based and chemical-based treatments. It has been used to treat or complement the treatment of many conditions. .If you are looking for an alternative method to get to the depths of your health, Tui na is the method you will want to look into. This particular procedure, in conjunction with a combination of Chinese medicine techniques is known to heal those that use it on all levels. Tui na has the ability for those using it to improve their energy flow and enjoy better health.
