The blood drop containing sugar undergoes with an enzyme electrode making glucose oxidize. The enzyme is reoxidised with a glut of a moderator reagent, for example osmium bipyridyl complex, the moderator in turn is reoxidised in at the electrode, which generates an electrical current. The readings are displayed in either mg/dl or mml/l .To convert mmol/l to mg/dl, we have to multiply by eighteen,to change mg/dl to mmol/l, we divide by eighteen.
