By: Dennis Brown

Almost everyday it seems like we find out about another potential health benefit of green tea. It seems that an endless torrent of information is coming in about another research project with yet another ailment that green tea could potentialy cure. The upcoming four are some of the most exciting areas of research being performed with green tea currently.

Cancer and Green Tea

Cancer prevention is one of the possible health benefits of green tea. Asian communities who ingest green tea have manifested significantly lower levels of cancer according to recent studies. Based on this possible correlation between a regular consumption of green tea and a lower risk for cancer further research is taking place. There has been studies on humans and animals showing encouraging benefits with green tea.

Preliminary findings insinuate that the health benefits of green tea may fend off cancer in many of the bodys vital organs. These organs include the urinary bladder, the entire lower and upper digestive tract, and pancreas.

Heart Protection

An important health benefit of green tea is the antioxidants found in green tea. These antioxidants have shown promise in minimizing levels of cholesterol, reducing cardiac disease and controlling hypertension. Specifically, a daily cup of tea, eight and a half ounces, was consumed by those participating in a case study. After 25 years, participants had a reduced level of heart attacks in contrast to the participants who did not consume the green tea.

More studies show that antioxidants were helpful in reducing the blood cells from bonding. The implications of this health benefit would be the reduction in clotting which is associated with strokes and heart disease.

Arthritis Prevention

A health benefit of green tea is the possible prevention and soothing of arthritis and its painful effects. Research has shown a powerful ingredient of green tea to be its ability to perform as an agent to minimize inflammation. Certain studies suggest that the antioxidants in green tea slow the arthritic process as well as minimize the painful symptoms of those affected with arthritis.

The Liver and Green Tea

Potential protection of the liver is another health benefit of green tea. Preliminary research suggests a strong correlation between the antioxidants found in green tea and the function of the liver. The liver performs as a filter within the body and cleanses the body of toxins. These toxins can be from the ingredients found in alcohol, food, water, cigarettes smoked, the air we breathe, and so on. The health benefits of green tea indicate a strengthening and stimulating of the immune system within the body and a protection of the cells that comprise the liver.

It is easy to imagine that with the great many people painfully enduring cancer, heart problems, arthritis, or liver problems that green tea might have the ability to really help a huge amount of people.
