Hair Loss Herbal Remedies - Herbs Can Be Your Secret Weapon In Your Hair Loss Treatment Plan

By: Steve Billesberger

Hair loss herbal remedies have been in the spot light lately. The discussion has been on whether herbal remedies are more effective in treating hair loss then conventional medication. Even with all the proof of what herbs can do there is still a lot of opinions on just how effective herbs are for hair loss. This article is going to try and shed some light on the topic.

With out a doubt we know that dht (dihydrotestosterone) is the main cause of hair loss. Dht is a bi-product of testosterone. The biggest side effect of having too much dht in your system is that you start losing hair. It attaches itself to your hair follicles and slowing chokes the life from it. Dht effects men more than women but it is still a factor in womens hair loss.

So if your going to combat your hair loss with herbal remedies it just makes sense that you use something that can stop the production of dht in your system. The question is are there herbs out there that can do that. Lets find out.

One thing we know for sure is that there are herbs out there that have the ability to stop dht production. Some of these herbs are: stinging nettle, saw palmetto and muira puama. These herbs are used in many different parts of the world because of their therapeutic effects, but more importantly for their ability to treat hair loss.

The American Herbalists Guild says that these herbs (particularly stinging nettle) can not only stop hair loss but can also stimulate new hair growth. So naturally your going to want to use these herbs in your hair loss efforts.

Fortunately though you don't have to try and come up with your own concoction. There are hair loss dietary supplements on the market today that use these herbs in their formula along with essential vitamins and minerals which induce hair growth. This way you know that you'll be taking the right herbs with the right vitamins in the right proportions for maximum effectiveness.

One thing to keep in mind though is that hair loss is not always a cosmetic problem. Health problems like diabetes are also known to cause hair loss, as well as taking certain kinds of medication. So before you spend your money on a hair loss product you should check with your doctor and make sure that it's not something else that is causing your hair loss.
