Help in Curing Hemorrhoids!

By: Tex

Hemorrhoids are a painful and uncomfortable condition that affects millions of people. Hemorrhoids occur when the veins of the anus and rectum become dilated. When the blood vessels around the anus become swollen, it causes a great deal of pain. There are basically two types of hemorrhoids. These types are called the external and internal. How to cure hemorrhoids successfully will depend on the type of treatment chosen.

The internal hemorrhoid occurs when the muscles that support the blood vessels weaken. Once weakened, they become enlarged and this results in a sac-like protuberance inside the rectal canal. If this protuberance is large enough, it will push out of the anal canal and cause a prolapsed hemorrhoid.

The external hemorrhoid occurs when just under the skin of the anus. It can be very uncomfortable and almost always itches and burns. In some cases, blood will pool in the external hemorrhoid and form clots. This type of hemorrhoid is called a thromboses external hemorrhoid.

Hemorrhoids can occur to just about anyone. They are prevalent in people of advanced age, pregnant women and women who have given birth previously. Some studies have shown that there is an increase in hemorrhoid activity in family members. Some causes of hemorrhoids are coughing, sneezing, straining, pregnancy, severe vomiting and diet. Determining a possible cause can help in diagnosing how to cure hemorrhoids.

The symptoms of hemorrhoids are blood in the stool, itching and lumps felt at the anal opening. If blood in the stool is experienced, it is always a good idea to visit a physician to rule out anything more serious. Diagnosis can be done through a rectal exam for internal hemorrhoids with the use of an scope that has a light and eyepiece to view the anal opening and a simple visual exam can determine external hemorrhoids.

There are several different ways to cure hemorrhoids. Some methods include baths, ice packs, ibuprofen and over the counter creams and ointments. It is important that quality of life be enhanced. Changing diet and losing weight are important in learning how to cure hemorrhoids. Exercising is key as well as plenty of fluids and fiber. Keep the anus clean and do not use rough toilet paper with bowel habits. Adding stool softeners may help but must be discussed with a physician.

If these treatments are unsuccessful, there are other methods that should be discussed with a physician that require minor procedures and might be the way how to cure hemorrhoids for you. These include injection therapy, laser coagulation and infrared coagulation. Sometimes a more involved procedure is required to remove the hemorrhoids surgically.

It is important to note that most hemorrhoids will heal by themselves in a few weeks. If it is noticed that they continually return, more permanent measures may be needed. How to cure hemorrhoids can be done effectively but if symptoms persist, it is very important to see a physician as there may be a more serious problem. These problems can include colon cancer, intestinal inflammation, and fissures of the anus. Changing a lifestyle of bad diet and exercise habits will always benefit the body, spirit and mind and lead to a very long and fulfilling life.
