Hemorrhoids - Causes and Home remedies Treatment

By: alien

Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are one of the most common known diseases. Hemorrhoids are enlarged, bulging blood vessels in and about the anus and lower rectum. Hemorrhoids are also called piles. Hemorrhoids are painful illness.

There are two kinds of hemorrhoids :-

• Internal and
• External.

Internal hemorrhoids usually don't hurt or itch. You can't feel them because they are deep inside the rectum. Internal hemorrhoids are pretty harmless.

External hemorrhoids cause most of the symptoms we commonly hear about pain, burning, and itching.
If you have a hemorrhoid, you may feel a tender lump on the edge of your anus. You may also see blood on the toilet paper or in the toilet after a bowel movement. Many anorectal problems, including fissures, fistulae, abscesses, or irritation and itching (pruritus ani), have similar symptoms and are incorrectly referred to as hemorrhoids.

Causes of Hemorrhoids

An exact cause is unknown of hemorrhoids. Few researchers believe that it is the pulling force of stool, particularly hard stool, passing through the anal canal. Hemorrhoids may also result from portal hypertension because of the portacaval anastomoses.
Other conditions which contribute to hemorrhoids are due to poor bowel habits, constipation, diarrhea, pregnancy, obesity, and especially frequent straining when having a bowel movement. However, some patients will have none of these conditions and still develop hemorrhoids. Other factors that can lead to the development of hemorrhoids include :-

• Excess weight, increase pressure on pelvic veins.
• Hormonal changes during pregnancy increase blood flow to the pelvis and relax supportive tissues while the growing fetus causes increased pressure on blood vessels.
• Long-term heart and liver disease may cause blood to pool in the abdomen and pelvic area, enlarging the veins.
• Tumors in the pelvic area. These occur very rarely.

Home Remedies for Hemorrhoids

*Mango seeds are effective remedy for bleeding piles. The seeds should be dried and powdered and should be taken in the doses of about one and a half gram to two grams with or without honey.
*Make a paste of well-grounded radish with milk and apply over inflamed piles to get relief from pain and swelling.
*Take a strong, warm tea using Lady's mantle, and apply to the hemorrhoids with a cotton ball several times a day or as required.
*Iodine is very good for hemorrhoids. Use it with carrier oil such as flaxseed or olive. Mix 20 drops of SSKI in an ounce of oil and applies the solution to the affected area at bedtime.
*Avoid rubbing with toilet paper. This aggravates the hemorrhoids. Wash your rear with water and gently wipe with toilet paper after you are done. Fill up your bathtub with warm water and sit in it for 10-15 minutes every evening.
