How I found out I was being deceived by an employee with a spy phone..

A short time ago I applied for a better role within my company. I have been serving for them for many years now and have worked my way up through hard work, determination and a exceptional attendance. When applying for the role I was very sure in myself that I would land it, but to my astonishment I was snubbed of this role. It went to a much younger member of the team who to my records has not been with the business that long.…

I was invited into my bosses office for talk. It was then that he informed me that I had not got the role that I had gone for but that a young female had got it. She was the best employee for the role he told me, and that they were pleased with the decision that they had made.

He then nodded and turned away to let me know that I was dismissed! The cheek of the man! He knew I was the best employee for the role and there was something strange going on. She had only been with the company a brief time and I did not think she was particularly good at what she did..

The more I thought about it the more it frustrated me. It got to the point where it started to affect my wellbeing. A friend of mine mentioned a piece of equipment called a spy phone, so I bought one of these. Then late one night I planted it in my boss’s office..

The next day she had a meeting booked with the boss to discuss her new role. Whilst in the meeting I was able to eavesdrop on her talking to him with the spy phone I had planted in his office the previous day. Unaware that I was listening in, to my distress I was listening to her talk bad about me. I never predicted this. She even accused me of being self centered and never wanting to help anyone. All of this angered me as it was all lies. Now that I knew the reason of her promotion I just needed a way back at her. The reason I had not got the promotion was not me not being good enough but me being backstabbed by a fellow employee.

“I brought you some coffee,” she smiled, placing a steaming mug on my desk, “and I was wondering if you could help me with something.” An idea forming in my mind, “Absolutely,” I replied, what do you need?” She gave me some work she had to do for the chairman of the company but had completely no idea how to do it. It was simple. So I did the report for her and she was very grateful. Little did she know that I had done to her work what she had done to my chances of promotion. I had made many mistakes on the chairman’s report and it was all hers! The chairman was not going to be overwhelmed with her efforts. Maybe that promotion would be mine after all..
