How To Use Weight Loss Patches

By: Brad Bryson

Weight loss patches are viewed by a number of as a substitute for diet tablets, but in recent years, the US Federal Trade Commission has issued a warning against the use of a weight loss patch for weight loss as a number of companies make misleading claims about its effectiveness. A weight loss patch claims to help in weight loss by either suppressing your appetite or helping you burn excess fat, attached to the skin it releases appetite suppressants and other chemical substances into your body.

As its absorption is through the skin into the blood as opposed to the stomach it is believed to be more affective than tablets as none of the nutrients an chemicals are lost. By using the slow release patches, chemicals are used to lower food cravings, increase the metabolism, and blockers that help stop certain oils and fats being absorbed by the body, are able to work directly and much more quickly than using other methods.

The process requires that the skin is allows the passage of the chemicals which means the molecules have to be small enough to pass through the layers of skin and directly through the blood vessel walls. Compared to tablets and other systems, weight loss patches will allow up to 95 percent of the important chemicals to enter the blood stream.

To ensure that the weight loss skin patch would work, the molecules present in any medication to be used must of a size small enough to be absorbed through the skin. The ingredients contained in the weight loss patch will vary according to what they are intended for, but normally they will contain chemicals and nutrients that are found in other supplements used in weight loss programs.

The effectiveness of these patches is still a matter of debate amongst specialists as where the patches do work successfully, they believe there may be other factors that have not been added to the equation. Naturally, when somebody wears a weight loss patch there is a strong psychological urge to make it work and specialists agree that this is a facet that is difficult to assess.

The patches are best adhered to clean dry skin, normally on the back of the person trying to lose those excess pounds. It isn't just dirt that can cause issues when placing the patch but also hair so if you do not wish to remove any hair, find another place to stick it to.

This will make sure that the weight loss patch won't only stick better (ensuring optimum absorption), but removal will also be relatively easy and pain-free. Although the patches will still work if they get wet, their effectiveness will be reduced as some of the chemical substances may have been diluted or washed away. Weight loss products are in the main more successful when they are used in combination with other products in an overall health plan and weight loss patches are no different.

No matter what weight loss product you decide to go with, it's important to always include and anti aging supplement in your program. A natural HGH boosting supplement will help you to lose weight and make your skin look younger too. You will also get a lot of extra energy from such a product.
