How to Live a Healthy Life, Tips To Live Longer and Healthier

By: Steve Geysbeek

How we live our lives can be both seen in our appearance and felt with each step we take. If we eat nothing apart from junk foods and drinks soda and sugary juices and do not exert ourselves physically, we're going to begin to see and feel the consequences of those decisions. If we eat a carefully balanced diet of whole grains fruits, vegetables and get exercise we are going to see and feel the consequences of those decisions. Therefore how do we live a healthy life?

Take account of how much exercise you get and what you drink and eat on a regular basis for one week ; write it down. Write down what you drink ( include soda, coffee, juice, energy drinks etc . ), eat ( including all fast food and nibbles ), how much alcohol you have, if you smoke the quantity of cigarettes you smoke a day, everything. Do not forget to include what sort of exercise you get each day. That includes whether you took the steps or the elevator. At the end of the week take a look at what you have.

On a separate piece of paper write down what kinds of foods and drinks you ought to be eating and drinking and what sort of exercise is safe for you. Common sense and listening to what our mums told us about what we should eat will also go a good distance in making healthy selections. You can get information from your health practitioner if you have certain health issues concerning what kind of exercise and diet is safe for you. You can also scour the internet for nutritional food information and base your calls on what you are prepared to eat from what is most tasty.

Most of us understand the old proverb you are what you eat is true. When you eat fast food, sugar, preservatives and bad sorts of fat all of the time your body begins to lose energy and run down. Cells start to grow worse and we just feel blah all of the time or we become ill, often actually sick. Every once in a while these indulgences will not hurt, but consistently consuming the preservatives and synthesised colorings and sugar and unhealthy fats etc . From junk food will breakdown the body. Did you know that the average child today is consuming over ten pounds of food additives every year? Imagine what that does to a body over time . Compare that to what eating healthy food can do for your body ; give the nutriments our bodies need and can process easily.

Food reinforcement is an alternate way to give our bodies the nutrition we cannot get from our food. Eating the most healthy food we can and giving our bodies the additional nutrients by way of prime quality additions allows our body to work at peek performance. Cells degenerate less and become healthier allowing everything in the body to work efficiently and smoothly. Do some research to get a credible company which has been in business for several years. You also want to be certain they have prime quality standards and do many QC tests. Any company who does these types of tests should ideally include that in their company information. Be careful of store brand supplements as the less expensive cost usually means less expensive ingredients.

Whole grains, fruits, plants, and so on should be a large portion of what you eat, but be reasonable. When you select your trail to wellness, don't write down a diet or way of life you can't commit to. If you do, you are just setting yourself up for failure right off the bat. Establish what range a person of your height and age should weigh and what calorific intake and exercise it would probably take to stay within that healthy range. This is going to help you decide what type of foods you will eat compared to what the nutritive value of that food is and what activities you would enjoy doing that keep your heart rate up for twenty to 30 minutes a day. You can start off slow and work your way up or start strong, what ever you decide make sure you can stick with the new regimen.

Living a healthier life is about taking stock of what we do to our body and what we need to do to give it more of what it requires. Drink water rather than soda or juice ; grab some fruit to tame the sweet tooth and vegetables when pining for a crunch. Go for a walk or a jog when life gets stressful or park at the end of the carpark and walk or take the steps instead of the lift. When our bodies are content and run efficiently the better provided we are to handle stress and the environmental contaminants that exist all around us. The better sleep we get at night and the more we would like to do during the daytime. Health is a choice and one that we are able to be proactive about now. Inform yourself and invest in high quality products that can make a change.
