Yet another frequent concern with decorating a home office is due to simple lack of space. Many of us have a home office set up as an afterthought. On the topic of color, many people report finding that selecting a calming color for their home office creates a relaxing work envoirnment. In contrast, a bright color choice will bring energy to the room. Just some thoughts when selecting a color. You may select a color that is uniquely suited to your needs.

Home offices don't need much of decorative accessories. After the paint, stencils can create nice accents on the walls. Wallpaper can also provide a chic effect. You can elect to use prints for the walls to add accents too.

Furniture for your home office will vary on what you need. Typically, a home office has a desk and place for computer work. You may also wish to have filing cabinets or other special furniture depending on your line of work. Remember not to scrimp on the organizational tools such as filing cabinets and desk space. You will definately want to see to it that you have enough room to organize your office with enough space to accomidate your things.

If you are on a tight budget, you can usually find a nice deal on a used desk by checking in the local paper. Desks can be quite expensive to buy at the store, but they do sell for cheap when you buy them from someone who is having a moving sale. Another savings idea would be to use plastic milk crates as file holders. Milk crates are sturdy, readily available and a exact fit for most office files.

Once you have your office functional, you can start to think about the addition of some personal touches to relax you while you work. Family pictures, a favorite plant or anything else that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed would go well in your home office. Do you like music? If you like to listen to music while you work, you will want to remember to outfilt your home office with a good radio.
