Is Indoor Tanning Right For Me?

By:

"You’ve seen the storefronts in every strip mall that you’ve had a reason to drive by but you haven’t yet gone inside. Sure, you’ve considered checking out what indoor tanning might be able to do for you, but you have your hesitations. You’ve heard the rumors that indoor tanning is bad for you. And even if you’ve done your research and decided that it’s safe, you’re not really sure that indoor tanning is right for you. After all, you’re just an average person and you have to admit that you don’t look anything like the people you imagine frequenting indoor tanning salons.

Here are some questions to ask yourself if you’re trying to decide whether or not indoor tanning is a good option for you:

• Do you burn easily when you try tanning in natural sunlight? While some people are lucky enough to have skin that withstands the tests of the sun, the majority of us get sunburned if we’re out in the rays for too long. Not only does it hurt, but it’s obviously bad for your skin. Indoor tanning can prevent the problems of sun burn by giving you than tan in a more controlled environment.

• Does your appearance improve when you have a natural tan? Some people are afraid that indoor tanning will give them an unnatural look. However, most people who are able to tan naturally get the same natural appearance from their indoor tanning salon. If you enjoy the way that you look when you do get a tan, then you might want to go ahead and go indoors.

• Do you enjoy spas and salons? The indoor tanning treatment is an indulgent experience. People who enjoy going to get massages and facials or even who just like when it’s time to go get their hair cut again often find that adding a tanning salon to the beauty routine gives them another way to get that “me time” indulgence.

• Are you willing to do your research? There are certainly pros and cons to every possible situation and so indoor tanning salons are no exception. It’s never a good idea to go into an experience blindly. But if you’re willing to do a little background research into how to find a good salon, what to expect and what tanning precautions to take, then you’ll probably enjoy your experience.

• Have you ever checked out an indoor tanning salon? If you’ve been thinking about it for awhile but you haven’t gone inside one of these spots, you should consider the fact that there’s no harm in getting information. Don’t let anyone sell you any services that you’re not interested, of course, but don’t be afraid to ask questions and get more insider knowledge about what a tanning salon can do for you.

Indoor tanning salons are located all over the nation so it shouldn’t be hard for you to find one. In fact, you’ve probably passed by one regularly which is what got you thinking that you might want to try one in the first place. It’s true that the experience isn’t for everyone. But if you’ve answered the above questions with responses that make it seem like an indoor tanning salon is at least worth checking out, then you might want to drop in the next time that you’re in the area of one. After all, you can’t find out that you like it if you never check it out."
