Is It Real Hoodia Gordonii?

By: APP Manager

Did You Get Authentic Hoodia Gordonii?

There are many companies that sell hoodia for weight loss in stores and through the internet today. Consumers should know, however that a great deal of these hoodia gordonii weight loss supplements just do not have enough hoodia in them. There has been a case of some so-called hoodia being confiscated during a raid without any hoodia in it. It simply had wood shavings and other fillers!

Hoodia gordonii is comprised of a substance that in theory can be made into pills to subdue one's appetite and accordingly evaporate the epidemic of obesity. The hoodia plant has a once undiscovered appetite suppressant, now called P 57. Use of hoodia gordonii for weight loss assistance is becoming very popular due to the fact that it doesn't have any known adverse side effects.

There are various kinds of hoodia gordonii products and supplements. There is the which some would claim to be completely 100% pure. These pills are supposedly prepared from a full hoodia gordonii plant that's made into a powder. The San people themselves do not eat the the plant's skin. Rather, they peel the skin, take out the spikes, and throw them away. They also make a hoodia tincture, which is made from a 20:1 gram and 10:1 gram ratio. The hoodia gordonii plant is set in alcohol which soaks the active ingredients into itself. The alcohol is then strained and at last removed with just the active ingredients left.

You may assume that it's not a big deal to find out which drug companies carry authentic pills, the authentic hoodia. You might, with complete logic, think that it is just a matter of testing in the lab to isolate the chaff from the wheat. Unfortunately, however, it turns out that in this business, there isn't even an understood terminology of exactly what hoodia gordonii is at the laboratory.

There are approximately two laboratories in America that reign the hoodia testing market, and these two labs disagree with each other on what types of tests must be carried out, the manner in which they should be performed, and what exactly the definition of genuine hoodia is. These laboratories might not even be working off the same botanical samples. Because of this, each company could have completely different plants altogether, for all anyone knows.

So really, those things are only just the beginning of the problems with the current hoodia gordonii industry. There are these 2 leading labs that don't agree with each other on what hoodia gordonii is, and then they go on to squabble about how to do testing for it and verify it. The result of all this is that there are a few health supplement companies who are sending samples to one lab that recognizes them as being testing reports disagree, and that's just the beginning of what's wrong with the hoodia industry.

Only Phytopharm and Pfizer have any genuine claim right now for licensing the core, working ingredients in The hoodia gordonii plant. Various other hoodia pills might indeed work, but all are uncertain. So it's in your best interest to only take hoodia from certified sources.
