KitchenAid Citrus Juicer - Best For Small Juice Drinks

By: alien

KitchenAid citrus juicer is a name many people associate with high quality kitchen products.

Their Kitchen Aid stand up mixer and the attachments for the mixer are no exception.

Kitchen Aid makes a Citrus Juicers attachment that is compatible with the stand up mixer and attaches directly as with many of their other attachments.

If you like the taste of freshly squeezed juice, give it a try.

The price for the KitchenAid Citrus Juicer runs around $29.99-$34.99 which is less than what it would cost to purchase an actual juicer and that amount fit into my budget.

I don't have a lot of kitchen space, so the small size of the juicer was appealing to me. It's also dishwasher safe which saves me time.

The juicer also comes with a total 1-year replacement warranty. The advertisement promised easy-to-follow directions for assembly, but I think they could have been written with a bit more clarity.

Juicing orange juice, lemon juice and lime juice is very quick. Grapefruit juice takes a bit longer due to a lot of pulp and seeds getting caught in the strainer.

I had to clean out the strainer after only a few fruits because it was overflowing. In order to make the juicer work well, a lot of pressure is needed.

You need to hold the mixer with one hand and press the fruit into the juicer with the other hand. This is somewhat tiring, not to mention the juice that was running down my arm and spattering onto the counter.

The advertisement I saw showed juice coming from the KitchenAid juicer into a glass. I used a large glass bowl under the juicer which seemed to catch more of the juice.

The angle at which the fruit has to be held (horizontal-like) is okay for quick juicing of limes, lemons and oranges, but uncomfortable for long periods of time. Pressing down on the fruit instead would be easier.

It might be better if the KitchenAid Citrus Juicer was made from metal instead of plastic. It would be sturdier and probably have a longer life. As a result, maybe it wouldn't take as much work to get the fruit through the juicer.

If you are only juicing a few fruits each day, the time factor isn’t a big deal. If you plan to juice in large quantities, or if you juice grapefruit only, the KitchenAid Citrus Juicer might not be the best choice for you.

However, if you enjoy freshly squeezed juice at your convenience, this juicer does get every drop of juice from the fruit and it tastes great!

I purchase organic fruit, so when I juice, I know I am getting a pure fruit juice and the taste is unbelievable.

Overall, I am very happy with the juicer and plan to keep it. However, I'll keep looking to see if Kitchen Aid produces a metal one!
