Mangosteen fruit benefits have been explored by many people around the globe in the recent years.

Whether it is the berry or the tasty mangosteen fruit juice, it hasn’t taken much persuasion for some to buy into the idea of drinking and eating your way to an improved body or immune system.

But, with all this talk about the benefits of the mangosteen berry and juice, there are plenty additional uses that the mangosteen has to offer.

Mangosteen fruit benefits aren’t exclusively attached to just the berry. Many are unaware that the rind, leaves, roots and bark can also be used to treat several different medical concerns.

Traditionally, the locals of Southeast Asia have been tapping into the benefits of the mangosteen fruit for hundreds of years.

The rind of the exotic fruit mangosteen has been used to prevent and treat a variety of infections. This part of the fruit has also been known to decrease pain and help lessen the effects of a fever.

When mangosteen is dried, the product is sliced and dried in order to create a powder that is used to treat an array of health ailments, such as dysentery.

The dried mangosteen fruit also makes an essential ingredient in ointments that have been used to treat eczema and other skin irritations.

When making a decoction, the rind becomes an important part of a remedy that can treat diarrhea, cystitis, and even the sexually transmitted disease, gonorrhea. Externally, this same decoction makes an effective astringent lotion.

In the Philippines, it is the leaves and bark attached to the mangosteen fruit that becomes an important ingredient with some of their natural treatments. Using these parts of the fruit to create a decoction can treat diarrhea, thrush, dysentery, as well as urinary disorders.

Locals in Malaya have also found ways to use the leaves in conjunction with other ingredients to prepare a remedy for the speedy healing of a circumcision. Unripe bananas and a little benzoin are added to the mangosteen leaves to create such a treatment.

The root of the mangosteen fruit tree has also been used to create a decoction that allows females in Malaya to better regulate their menstrual cycle.

It is the health benefits connected to the consumption of mangosteen juice that is often making headlines.

Depending on whom you speak to, there is a wealth of associated advantages to eating or drinking the mangosteen, including balancing out microbiology, increased mental stability, and improving joint flexibility.

The juice has been known to boost the immune system and provide individuals with a renewed sense of energy.
