Sunglasses UK-Why you Need to Get the Right Protection

By: Layo P. Bailey

Sunglasses in the UK are very similar to the sunglasses all around the world. However, there are some differences in the specifications of Sunglasses in the UK and other countries, especially the United States.

Regardless, we all need to protect our eyes from the glare of the sun. However, this isn't something new, and in fact is dated to go as far back as the 12th century in China. While they were used to block out glares, there is also evidence that it would hide a person's face during questioning.

Over the years, sunglasses uk style and others around the world went from just protecting your eyes to looking stylish. This was considered "cool," and by the late 1950s, people started calling them cheaters. Then again, it would also conceal people's identity, especially movie stars and big name celebrities. Nowadays, people still want to look good, but protect their eyes from UV rays at the same time.

Have you ever seen the movie Blindness? If you haven't, it revolves around an epidemic of individuals losing their sight. Can you imagine if everyone in your city was blind because of UV Rays? Heck, what about just having to clean your home without sight? The point is this is where the world is headed, and if you don't protect your eyes with Foster Grants, Ray Ban, Oakley, Smith, Wiley, Gargoyle, Serengeti, and several others, the future holds many eye issues. Plus, it's also important to make sure your sunglasses uk don't get scratched or damaged. If they do it can reduce visibility, so throw them away immediately.

Sunglasses do reflect the sun's glare very well; however, the new polarized sunglasses greatly reduce the blue ray light, which is also not noticeable with the naked eye. Fishermen use polarized sunglasses mainly because the polarization allows the fishermen to see a few feet under water, because the glare from the sun is blocked out.

When choosing Sunglasses in the UK, one should wear types that are very high in UV protection, and larger lens will offer good eye protection. Recent studies in the sunglass industry have revealed that sunglasses which wrap around the eyes like a teardrop; will cover a person's eyes much better. This keeps the stray light that would normally inter a person's eyes between the edge of the sunglasses and the eyelids. In the UK, the European standard has 4 ratings; a "0" rating means that the sunglasses are not sufficient enough to block out any UV rays. Sunglasses that are marked with a "2" are not sufficient to block the UV radiation. A UHV protection of "6" means that the UV protection is minimal. A UHV of "7" means that the Sunglasses in the UK have less than 6% of UV rays being blocked. The sunglasses that are marked with a CE mark means that sunglasses have the potential to block all 400% of the ultraviolet light rays. However, this CE mark is not required in the UK as it is in other countries.

While you may want to stick with inexpensive sunglasses, we highly recommend spending a little more money and getting sunglasses uk. You will be able to protect your eyes and give them the special care they deserve. After all, you don't want to be walking around ten years from now with limited vision.
