The Best Diet to Become Skinny!

By: jena jackson

If you are frantically looking for a diet plan to help you to lose weight fast, chances are that you might have stumbled upon hundreds of them. All diet plan generally targets to reduce the amount of calories that you take while burning more of them. The longer you adhere strictly to a diet plan, the more are your chances of success.

The shocking truth is, regardless of whatever you eat, whether it's ice-cream, pizza etc. you can still lose weight if the portions are controlled, by eating less or avoiding the food that are normally in your menu, which tend to lower your overall calorie intake. Having said that, it is important to understand that not all diets give you the best results. Here are some tips to choose the best and most effective diet plan for you:

1. Consider How Healthy the Diet Is

Before embarking in a diet plan, you need to know how healthy the diet is. For example, if it's a all-juice fast diet, your body is not going to get all the nutrients that it needs. And you need to take other supplements to make up for it. Therefore, the best diet to consider would be the one that is nutritionally complete using real foods.

A simple but powerful way to control your intake of calories is to eat pre-packed food like food bars or shakes. This would help you to be disciplined and control your calorie intake, at least in the short run.

2. The Intensity of the Diet Plan

Secondly, you need to consider the intensity of the diet plan. If the plan requires you to cut the intake of calories drastically, and give up your favorite foods, you would be feeling deprived. You need to weigh this against your personality. If you are not a person who has a strong will against temptations, you are going to have a hard time to keep up with the diet. Instead chose a diet which includes high-protein food and vegetables that would help you feel full. This can keep you from consuming high-calorie foods.

3. Improvement to Your Eating Habits

Next, you should check whether the diet improves your eating habits. It is not just what you eat, how you eat counts too. You might be having a habit of overeating when it comes to certain types of food, so you need to check whether the diet plan trains you develop better eating habits. The diet plan should train you to control the amount that you consume for each type of food and make it a habit.

You need to choose a diet plan that is effective, yet easy to follow. Instead of becoming a short term- hard to follow diet plan, it should become a lifestyle.

4. A Diet Plan Which Includes Workout

Let's acknowledge the fact, you need to exercise to burn calories and lose weight. You can't expect to burn calories by sitting around. Cardio exercises such as jogging, swimming, tennis etc. is better as typically more calories are burnt as compared to weight lifting. If you are not doing any form of cardio exercise at the moment, it is time to begin slow and gradually increase your exercise session to 60 minutes to 90 minutes a day, at least 5 times a week.

5. Not a Drastic Weight Loss Plan

Now this is a very important point. It is a misconception that the faster you lose weight, the better it is. While losing weight fast may sound like you can achieve your goals quicker, it is not lasting. You need to lose weight at a moderate rate. For me, I lost 35 pounds in 10 weeks, that is a decent 3.5 pounds in a week. I did this without depriving myself of the favorite foods nor lose muscles in the process.
