The Problem of Excessive Blushing and How to Deal with it

By:

Most people that suffer from a blushing problem do not class it as a phobia initially. They start off aware that they blush easily and, though it troubles them, it does not change their lives in any important way. They may just put it down to their health or a passing phase and so can get on with their lives as normal.

However, when the blushing problem worsens, it can turn into a strong fear that makes your life hell. Though you worry about blushing, often others cannot actually see you blushing.

Like any other phobia, Erythrophobia starts off innocuously enough but progresses over time. It distinctly occurs in two stages - the initial stage when you blush easily every now and again, and the excessive blushing that comes as your self-consciousness increases.

Once you start blushing excessively, it can hurt you physically as well as mentally. It can become so bad that you might worry about it all the time. In fact, the more you worry, the more you will blush.

If you blush easily, it may happen only a few times a week but excessive blushing can occur many times a day. Actually, blushing easily may only be slight blushing but excessive blushing is often severe and will mentally burn you up.

This can be extremely bothersome and some people get flustered because of excessive blushing. However, you can learn to manage your blushing over a period of time. You can increase your resistance to it, in a manner of speaking, and also reduce the intensity of your blushing.

Once you begin to handle the problem of Erythrophobia then it becomes easier over time, but actually starting to deal with the problem poses the most difficulty to any individual. Any negativity will be used to talk yourself out of it and you may become overwhelmed by self-pity. This is not helped by the fact that very few people understand the phobia, unless they suffer from it themselves of course.

If you do persevere and follow through though, you will soon find that it becomes easier as you go along and the progress you make will persuade you to continue with your self-help. All you need is a little ray of hope and you will soon find that it becomes much easier to manage your blushing problem. It can even help you to start living a normal life once more.
