Using Genital Warts Cream Without The Consent Of Your Doctor Can Harm Your Unborn Child.

By: Matthew McMillan

Advancements in the field of medicine and introduction of different qualitative treatment options have made treating genital warts an easy affair. No doubt warts are extremely transmittable infections that may cause by unsafe sex. Mainly this disease catches victims through various ways including direct skin-to-skin contact in oral, genital or anal sex when done with infected sexual partners. Basically genital warts are easily recognizable symptoms of chronic genital infection human papillomavirus (HPV) which may bring lots of stress in the sufferers. Treating genital warts is therefore mandatory step for better control.

Worse still, there is no cure for HPV. However, there are ways to treat genital warts. At the same time, recent research has shown that by treating genital warts methodically, we can reduce the infectivity of the HPV and control it to some extend. Another important factor is that the HPV can only spread through direct skin-to-skin contact during genital, anal or oral sex with an infected partner. You can consider yourself safe if your partner do not have HPV. Unfortunately, a person infected by HPV does not always grow these warts, at least not immediately and so s/he may never know that s/he has been infected with HPV and such a person can infect others unintentionally.

At the same time, you should remember that:

1. Although the existing treatment for genital warts cannot eliminate HPV, it can reduce its infectivity. Therefore, one should undergo genital warts treatment not only for treating genital wars, but also for keeping the HPV under control and reducing its infectivity. The best way to treat genital warts is to strengthen the body's immune system, so the HPV become weak and lose its capacity give rise to genital warts. However, there are other methods too.

2. Also, remember that not all warts-like growth in the genital area is Condylomata acuminate. Have it diagnosed first. Small warts can be diagnosed with help of a simple magnifying glass or with a colposcope. A colposcope is a magnifying and photographic instrument that is used to examine the vagina. Another method is to apply acetic acid on the effected area. Genital warts will show up as white spots.

Some genital warts can successfully be treated with genital warts creams and lotions marketed by various companies. The best advantage of these creams is that the patients themselves can successfully apply them. Others, because of their intensity or location require more professional handling. Some of them need to be removed through surgery or cauterization Cryosurgery, which removes the warts by freezing them in liquid Nitrogen is supposed to safe enough even for pregnant women. Bigger warts may need surgical excision. Cauterization is also another option.

As such, Podofilox, because of its low cost is the first line of treatment. It can be applied by the patient him/herself. It is marketed as Condylox, Wartec and Warticon. Since it is the purified version of podophyllin, the common anti-mitotic solution made from crude herbal extract, it is far safer than podophyllin, but less safe than other self-applied medicines like imiquimod (marketed as Aldara) or sinecatechins (.marketed as Polyphenon E or Veregen).

There are also some excellent over the counter medicines that you can apply. Such medicines do not have any side effect and most of them claim to cure the warts from the roots and therefore the warts once healed do not recur. There are also some home remedies that the patients can apply successfully. On the other end, are the doctor-applied treatments for genital warts. Cryosurgery is supposed to be the safest method, safe even for pregnant women. Cauterization, surgical excision or laser ablation too are other options.

Genital wart cream like Polyphenon E or Veregen also cures genital warts quite effectively, but like Podofilox group of medicines, they do just that. The Imiquimod group of medicines, on the other hand, are immune response ointments and so Aldara, belonging to this group of medicines, works by activating the immune system of the body and therefore is more effective in controlling the genital warts. The Interferon, though not exactly a genital wart cream is more effective than Aldara in the sense that once they are injected in the body, allow communication between cells to trigger the protective defences of the immune system and thus help in eliminating the invading pathogens.

Pregnant women should specially be careful while undergoing treatment for genital warts because even genital warts cream can be harmful for the foetus. Such women should never go on self-medication although some excellent wart removing creams are available over the counter. For the sake of your unborn child, see a doctor first and start the treatment under him. Meanwhile do everything in your capacity to strengthen your immune system.

Being a professional, Matthew McMillan only recommends the best cure possible to remove genital warts. His methods are highly recommended and information of genital wart remover can be found at TreatmentForGenitalWarts.com.
