WebTV. Is it really worth the Effort?

WebTV has been out since the days that 15 inch monitors were the standard. Most people did not think it would be possible to watch WebTV from their computer. What concerned people the most besides the 15 inch monitor was the dialup. Most wondered if it would be worth watching. Also people had a tough time deciding of the many, many choices from where to get WebTV. There were just too many outlets to purchase the product from.
As recently as about 5 years ago these were the concerns people had with WebTV. But recently, there has been more out there to read up on WebTV. Now people you would be amazed at the fact that you can get as many as 3000 channels. These channels are the same channels that your local satellite and cable channels offer. Still, even though there is more to read on the topic, people were still skeptical. After all, we are talking about getting TV through your computer.
Now more and more people are going this route and are amazed at what they can get. There are premium channels such as HBO and USA network. You can watch your programs in any language such as English, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and more. All have to do is browse the world TV category by the region or country name and you can watch the TV programs from that area. If you are a sports fanatic then you will really have it made. WebTV gives you an amazing amount of sports channels and events, like out of town games that would be blacked out in the area you live. You can see your favorite team play wherever because you can now watch them straight from your WebTV. You can't get from your regular satellite or cable channel without many a hefty fee to get it. The best news about all of this is you pay a one time fee and unlike the other satellite and cable subscriptions this is not a recurring fee. Once you have the system in place, you do not every have to pay anything else except for your internet access.
If you have DSL, cable modem or any fast speed computer services, then WebTV is something that you should consider in your near future. It is a much cheaper way of getting the programs that you want to watch and the quality is just as good as a regular TV.
