What is The Cause of Pimples

By: Noel Clarke

The vast majority of people who have ever had acne, will tell you that it is a horrible annoying disease which not only affects you physically, but also emotionally. Most people have had either the common non-inflammatory white heads and black heads type of acne, or the more serious inflammatory form which presents itself as papules and pustules, or in serious cases as nodules and cysts.

The old myths about the cause of pimples and acne being caused by eating chocolate have largely been disproved, however many acne sufferers swear that certain foods have a negative effect on their skins. Other factors which can cause acne breakouts are hormones during puberty and menstrual cycles, taking birth control and being pregnant and general hygiene.

There are many different acne treatments available to combat this curse, but as with many things in life, sometimes prevention is better than cure. Now it may not be possible to prevent getting acne at all, even though that would be good. You can sometimes reduce the severity of acne with basic hygiene. Keep your skin clean, and wear clean clothes and sleep in a clean bed. On top of this, there are many acne treatments and medications available, though it is a good idea to get some professional advice from your pharmacist or doctor, as to which medication would probably suit you best. The old trusted method of squeezing pimples should really be avoided, as it can lead to nasty scars.

Acne is a nasty affliction which does not discriminate between people of different nationalities or backgrounds. Unfortunately some of people are afflicted more severely than others. Acne can be controlled, and the best way to do this is to arm yourself with information about the cause of pimples and the best practices and treatments available to combat this horrible disease. Getting the information, and acting upon it will go a long way to getting a beautiful pimple free skin.
