What is Yeast Infection? And Beneficial Treatment

Vaginal yeast infection is the most common type of yeast infection and is caused by a fungus known as Candida albicans. In usual circumstances this mushroom is present on the skin and within the vagina of almost all healthy women.

The acidic surroundings in the vagina helps check the growth of this fungus. It is when the acid level drops downward due a diversity of factors ranging from menstruation, intake of antibiotics, steroids, and diabetes, that the mushroom start multiply and reason a vaginal infection.

Improper individual hygiene too is a primary cause of vaginal yeast infection. It is rarely a serious situation but can be very uncomfortable.

Symptoms of Yeast Infection
• Itching and burning around the vagina
• White vaginal discharge that may look like cottage cheese
• Pain during sexual intercourse
• Burning with urination
Causes of Yeast Infection
• Pregnancy or menstrual cycles may cause a yeast infection, due to the hormonal changes that a woman undergoes in these situations.
• Antibiotics, steroids, and certain birth manage pills can cause yeast infections.
• Excessive moisture within of the vaginal area can lead to infections.
• Individuals diagnosed with diabetes have been recognized to be more susceptible to yeast infections.
• Consuming large amount of sweets and other high-sugar foods can lead to recurring infections.
Yeast Infection Advice
• Avoid sharing towels and washcloths
• Wash your under garments in hot water and skip the fabric softener in the dryer
• Avoid clothing that is tight in the crotch
• Always change out of your exercise clothes or swimsuit immediately after working out or swimming
• Change your sanitary pads or tampons frequently and avoid using ones that are scented
• Avoid using heavily scented soaps, perfumes and talcum powder
• Avoid douching
• Use antibiotics only when necessary
• Eat a diet high in vegetables, protein and grains as well as consuming yogurt that has live acidophilus bacteria; avoid processed foods, sugars and alcohol
• Always use a water soluble lubricating gel during sex
Home Remedies for Yeast Infection

Vaginal yeast infection can either be cured orally or by vaginal insertion. Most of these home remedies have been tried and experienced for their efficacy. You can typically cure yourself in the privacy of your home without the need to vacation your gynecologist.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a known natural antifungal. Pour a few drops of straight tea tree oil on a tampon and insert into vagina. Do this morning and night. A couple of days should be sufficient.

Garlic
Make a paste of garlic pods and apply to skin approximately the vagina. It may burn a bit, but is very effective. This paste can be used for yeast disease in other parts of the body too. Another way to use garlic for the heal of vaginal yeast infection is to cut a little garlic pods fine and enfold it in a cheesecloth. Insert into vagina for about 20 minutes send-off part of cheesecloth execution out for easy taking away.

Yogurt
Dip a tampon in yogurt and insert in vagina. Do this two times a day, once in the morning and at night till symptom go away. A further way is to take a tablespoon of yogurt and inset into vagina.
