Who's golf advice are you supposed to listen to?

By: Staffan Moritz

That's exactly what I'm going to tell you today. Have you ever had one golf player tell you a valuable advice, only to find the next day a different professional disagreeing and advocating the exact opposite? You are told to keep your head straight and then another pro gives you completely contradictory advice.

So what are you supposed to do? Listen to me, of course:)

No two people play golf exactly the same way and the worst thing you can do is to get too caught up in listening to all the pro's out there.

There are some very basic fundamentals that can make you or break you. The first thing you need to do is keep your head absolutely still and not move it from the spot in which you start.

Sounds basic doesn't it?

You can’t keep your head still if you stiffen your muscles. By keeping your head still, you loosen up and this allows you to finish your stroke smoothly and naturally. You simply can't focus on the ball if your head is moving back and forth. Another benefit of keeping your head still is that it prevents slicing since you don’t have to draw your hands in to keep your balance.

One championship winner ones admitted that every time he stepped up to the ball, at every shot he repeated to himself, “Keep your head still. Keep your head still.” When your head is still, your ability to see the ball at every point in the swing is enhanced.

Master this one detail and you will find your confidence and game improving quickly.

Keep your head so still that you wouldn’t jar a glass of water perched on top of it, and look at the ball when you make your stroke. You’ll see the ball clearly and hit it more accurately.

No matter how nervous you are when you’re playing - keeping your head still and your eye on the ball - will help you play a better game instantly.
